Culture of 4 is a Hip Hop Cultural Event that highlights the four elements of Hip Hop: Breaking, MCing, DJing, & Graffiti Art. It was first established in 2003 with the South Bay Family YMCA Teen Center up until 2010. Bboy EraNetik, lead organizer and director of CO4, then fully took control and branched away to grow the event into something bigger. As the event became more of a destination for dancers across the world, in 2013, the Red Bull San Diego team became aware and sponsored the event at a low-tier level. With the event being so successful, it became part of the first ever U.D.E.F. Pro Breaking Tour in 2014. This made Culture of 4 become known as San Diego's Premier Hip Hop and Street Dance Event. Since then, it has attracted high level competitors from across the globe to come to San Diego and compete for a championship. Major companies like Redbull and Monster Energy sponsored at a higher-tier, with the Pro Breaking Tour, as well as many local businesses and brands. Happening annually in June, CO4 also celebrates EraNetik's breaking crew - "The Calamities", which was created by his brother Bboy Lancer in 2002. Culture of 4 and The Calamities Anniversary Jam has been combined into one event for a bigger outcome. 2022 will be the 20th Anniversary of The Calamities, which will surely be the biggest Culture of 4 event to date!
